The windcatcher and glassworks
Concerts at Hackney Church and The Stoller Hall, Manchester
The Ensemble will perform its inaugural concerts at Hackney Church on Tuesday 23rd September. The hour-long programme will feature two works by Philip Glass - The Windcatcher (for 6 saxophones) and Glassworks (to which strings, horns and keyboard will be added to the ensemble). This is a rare chance to heat Glassworks in its full, original instrumentation.
There are two chances to catch this performance on the 23rd - at 6pm if you fancy some mind-clearing music straight after leaving the work, or at 8pm if you prefer to get something to eat or drink beforehand.
We will repeat the programme, following the same schedule two days later on Thursday 25th September at Manchester's Stoller Hall; again, performances will start at 6pm and 8pm.
